What a blessing to be enjoying the first day of another new year, a year which holds known challenges as well as hope and anticipated joys! Activities of the day; sleep in (!) and gather at our house for a farewell party for Richard.
Scripture reading of the day and the theme for our year...Psalm 33:20-22 We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you. (Thank you Pastor Gaertner!)

Other family members watching the Badgers lose the Rosebowl game. (We're watching the game on espn.com on our laptops because we couldn't get the game on TV. Thank God for technology!)
Dan's Badger spirit unfortnately didn't influence the outcome of the game. (Badgers 19, TCU 21) He looks great though doesn't he?!
