Day 25 - January 25, 2011

Road trip!

This morning Tiffany and I went with Grandma and Grandpa to pick
up Grandpa's new eyeglasses. His eye doctor is at the clinic where
Melissa works so we got to see her too!

While we were there she showed us how she'd recently put her creative talents to good use...

In addition to this super-great door decoration they had filled the doctor's office with every imaginable kind of Packer paraphernalia and a rather large stack of tissue boxes (in case he was still crying over the Bears' loss.) WELL DONE MELISSA!!!

After our little tour of the back office Grandpa got his new spectacles. He was VERY excited about them as you can see.

While Grandpa was getting his glasses fitted there was a gentleman in the waiting room who noticed I was taking photos (I'm not sure, but the flash might have given me away) and he came over to talk. He was a very kind man but we had trouble ending the conversation. He must have been lonely. By the time we were finally able to gently walk away the new glasses were giving Grandpa a little trouble. (His eye muscles are used to the old ones and didn't know how to focus)  so anyway, as we were going out the rather large revolving door to pick up the car from the free valet parking (Melissa works in a VERY schmancy clinic) I jokingly asked Grandpa if he'd like to take my elbow. A guy behind us in the revolving door said, "Sure! And if you have a hip I'll take that too!" It was pretty funny and we learned today that the people in Oconomoc are very friendly.

Tiffany drove on the way home...

she did a good job and didn't speed AT ALL. Then I had to go to work. Today was Opposite Day so we had some fun in the classroom trying to do the opposite of what we usually do. (By-the-way, I forgot to mention it yesterday, but yesterday's special day was Compliment Day.)

Scripture passage of the day:

The LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forever more.
Psalm 121:8

  1. I'm glad you're blogging, otherwise my "blog roll" would be awefully slow and boring!! It's so much fun for you to go back in future years and re-read this...
