Day 33 - February 2, 2011

Groundhog Day! It was also a snow day thanks to the blizzard. Jim stayed home from work to blow snow...
He had to because he couldn't get out of the driveway anyway. It had drifted in while Natalie was at work last night and she got stuck halfway up when she came home...

by morning there was no hope of using the driveway until it was cleared.

In other news, Punxsatawny Phil did not see his shadow in Philadelphia this morning and therefore predicted an early spring. While Jim was snowblowing I did my own predicting. I dug out the groundhog I always used for this purpose when I was teaching at the day care. To my delight Fond du Lac Frank (his new name) did not see his shadow either!

Yay!

Although this was a pointless activity (later in the day it was sunny and I would have gotten a much different result) I will choose to hope God will be sending an early spring anyway. It would be a very good thing because we have impressive piles of snow built up in some places around the house...
By the time Jim got everything blown out the skies had cleared and it was very sunny, although cold. We decided to drive down to Madison to see Jerry and give Grandma and Grandpa a break. He looked a little better but they still haven't decided what to do about his heart blockages. He's on the eleventh floor at Meriter Hospital in Madison and he's got a pretty great view...
...if you like to look at the tops of buildings that is. He passes the time watching the progress of the plows removing snow from the parking garage next door.

While we were gone Natalie got ambitious and cleaned her room, doesn't it look GREAT?!
Good job Yal!

Scripture passage of the day:
Daniel 2:20-21 Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;
wisdom and power are his.
He changes times and seasons
