Day 55 - February 24, 2011

Grandma suffered another painful corneal rupture last night and had to go to the eye doctor this morning. He had to remove a large part of her cornea again. He said it was a little worse than last time. Clearly the methods we're using to prevent this from happening aren't working. Grandma has to see a corneal specialist next week. In the meantime we have to keep her in the dark until she heals from today's procedure and she gets to wear her "Stevie Wonders" again. (She has her eyes closed behind the glasses so I could use the flash. - Poor Grandma, we have to get to the bottom of this!)

Richard wanted to skype tonight. Because Grandma couldn't go out we took the computer to her house so she could talk to him too. Richard is busy gathering the things he will need to take with him when he deploys in March. He is very happy about the wrist GPS we gave him money toward for Christmas. We miss you Richard! Hang in there Grandma!

Scripture passage of the day:
Psalm 9:9-10
The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble.
Those who know your name will trust in you,
for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.
